TorqueBase
If you’re into cars, bikes, or 4x4s, you know the struggle: events and meets are scattered across Facebook pages, clubs, and word of mouth. Miss one post and suddenly you’ve missed the best meet of the month. That’s where TorqueBase comes in — a brand-new platform designed by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts, making it easier than ever to discover, share, and connect with the motoring world.
What Is TorqueBase?
TorqueBase is a free app (available on iOS and Android) created by a small Sydney team with a big vision: to give the global motoring community a single hub for events. Built by enthusiasts Justin Ruggier and Blake Smith, it grew out of their own frustration trying to track down what was on each weekend.
On TorqueBase, you can:
Browse events by type, date, or location
RSVP and save meets you don’t want to miss
Chat with other attendees or organisers
Post your own events for free, whether it’s a cars & coffee, a cruise, or a full-scale show
It’s simple, clean, and designed to be useful whether you’re an event organiser or just someone looking for the next run.
Map view helps you find your local meets and events at a glance
I love the ‘What’s on this weekend’ filters 🤙
Why It Matters
What makes TorqueBase more than just another events page?
Centralised discovery – No more jumping between half a dozen FB groups, insta reels or God forbid…TikTok. Everything’s in one place.
Level playing field – Big shows and small local cruises alike get exposure.
Community focus – Beyond finding events, it’s about building connections, friendships, and support networks.
Global ambition, local roots – While the app is already reaching enthusiasts worldwide, it’s being built right here in Sydney.
Campbelltown Cars & Coffee Shout-Out
We were stoked to have Blake from TorqueBase join us at our August Campbelltown Cars & Coffee meet. It’s awesome to see the people behind these ideas coming out to support local events. Even cooler? Knowing this isn’t some faceless tech company — it’s a small Sydney team creating something with the potential to change how motoring communities all over the world connect.
Challenges & Opportunities
Like any new platform, there are hurdles: getting enough users on board, making sure events are accurate, and keeping people engaged long-term. But TorqueBase has something many platforms don’t — passionate founders who live and breathe the car scene. That gives it a huge head start.
With features like recurring events, in-app chat, and ever-growing coverage, it’s only getting better.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re an event organiser tired of being buried on Facebook, or a weekend warrior who doesn’t want to miss another meet, TorqueBase is worth checking out. It’s a grassroots project with global ambitions — and the more of us who use it, the stronger our scene becomes.
